Boss Overview
The boss has 13,402,600 HP for Fearless and 28,135,427 HP for Dire.

The fight revolves around two mechanics:
- Recording Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo hits during Supreme Overseer.
- Breaking the two Elemental Stars that are created afterward.
If you break both stars correctly, the boss takes a large amount of True Damage and becomes stunned for 6 seconds.
The best teams are usually not the teams with the highest sheet DPS, but the teams that can force two useful recorded elements and then break both stars quickly.
Mechanic
Recording Phase
The boss enters Recording Phase twice. The first recording starts at 1:54, and the second starts at 1:43. During this phase, the boss records hits from Pyro, Hydro, Electro, and Cryo only. Anemo, Geo, and Dendro do not get recorded.

First recording: 5 hits from one PHEC element.
Second recording: 5 hits if you use a different element or 15 hits if you repeat the same element.
This is based on hits, not elemental application so fast multi-hit characters and Catalyst users are very valuable because they can force the recording quickly and consistently.
It is very important that you should not randomly attack during this phase. If Furina, Fischl, Escoffier, or other off-field units are active, they can steal the recording and create an Elemental Star that is undesirable.
Elemental Stars
After two recordings, the boss summons two Elemental Stars based on the recorded elements. Each star is immune to its own element. For example, a Pyro Star cannot be broken with Pyro damage, so you another non-Pyro damage source to break it.

Breaking the first star deals 3% + 3% of the boss’s Max HP.
Breaking the second star deals 9% + 9% of the boss’s Max HP.
Together, this is 24% Max HP before any reaction amplification. So this means Melt or Vaporize setups can increase the value of the second star break even further.
If the two recorded elements are different, the stars are much easier to break. If no element is recorded, the boss creates an Inert Elemental Star, which is extremely tanky and has very high RES.
Best Elements to Record
The best recording pairs are:
- Pyro + Cryo
- Pyro + Hydro
These elements will amplify the damage of the second star for massive damage so it's very important to aim to get a forward reaction (Pyro into Cryo or Hydro into Pyro)
Best Team Archetypes
Skirk Team
Skirk teams can clear this boss, but they require extensive planning because the boss punishes uncontrolled recording. A common approach is to bring Mona so the team can force Hydro recording quickly.
C0 Skirk
R1 Azurelight
C0 Escoffier
R5 Fav Lance
C0 Furina
R5 Fav Sword
C5 Mona
R5 TTDS
Game plan:
- Use Mona and Furina to force Hydro recording.
- Utilize the damage window between the star recording carefully or you might accidentally record a Cryo star.
- Set up Skirk’s burst for the Elemental Stars.
Teams With Flex Element
Any strong meta team can brute force this boss if they have one flex PHEC unit to control the recording. The fourth slot should often be chosen for the mechanic, not just for damage.
Game plan:
- Choose your flex unit based on the "Best Element to Record".
- Use the flex unit to create a second useful recorded element.
- Make sure the main DPS can damage BOTH of the stars.
C0 Zibai
R5 Flute
C0 Columbina
R5 Sac Jade
C6 Yanfei
R5 Fav Codex
C6 Illuga
R5 Fav Lance
Overload Teams
Overload teams can work well, but the player needs to plan around the Star immunity so that your main DPS can handle it.
Game plan:
- Record Pyro and Electro if you use both Varesa and Mavuika. Otherwise, record ONLY Pyro or Electro.
C2 Mavuika
R5 Serpent
C6 Chevreuse
R5 Black
C6 Iansan
R5 Dialogues
C6 Ororon
R5 Fav Bow
Required DPS
Baseline DPS
The baseline DPS requirement is simply the HP divide by the 120s timer, resulting in:
- 111,688 DPS for Fearless
- 234,462 DPS for Dire
This is the raw number before accounting for the star mechanic.
Actual DPS
If you break both Elemental Stars, the boss takes 24% Max HP damage before reaction amplification. That means your team only needs to directly remove around 76% of the boss’s HP.
- Fearless practical DPS requirement: about 84,883 DPS.
- Dire practical DPS requirement: about 178,191 DPS.
This figure can be dropped even further if you make used of amplifying reactions to maximize the stars' damage.
Tips and Tricks
- Record different elements whenever possible. Repeating the same element makes the second recording require far more hits and make the stars more tanky without the ability to do reactions.
- The boss can be hit while the stars are spawned, use this to your advantage to set up reactions but be careful not to ruin it.

- Catalyst characters are excellent at recording elements.
- Control your off-field damage. Oz, Furina summons, Yae turrets, Escoffier skill, and similar effects can accidentally record unwanted elements.
- Do not create Inert Stars. If the boss records nothing, the resulting star is extremely tanky and can ruin the run.
Character-Specific Tech
Mona
Mona is very useful here because Hydro Catalyst attacks make Hydro recording easy. Use her skill, normal attack and dash to maximize the recording rate.

Amber
Amber (and other archers) can target the boss while it's in the air
