Introduction

Stygian Cup Season 1 is a Stygian Onslaught 1v1 tournament hosted by Stygian.moe. Registration is planned for Sep 23th - October 10th, with tournament matches scheduled across October 12th-19th. Players apply with an account on our website, along with a Discord contact, in-game UID, availability, and an updated Team roster. Our team reviews applications and approves the final line up.

  • The player cap is currently planned at 16 approved players.
  • The planned format is 1v1 single elimination, with BO3 matches.
  • Players are seeded and paired using weighted cost so matchups stay as close as possible in roster strength.
  • Approved players must check in on time.
  • Match results, and bracket progression are verified by our team before becoming final.

Required Player Agreement

By submitting an application, checking in, joining a draft room, or playing a match, you confirm that you have read and accepted this guide. If you do not agree with any rule, do not apply.

  • You understand that enrollment is not guaranteed. Applications may be approved, waitlisted, or declined by the admin team.
  • You agree to provide accurate contact details, UID, region, timezone, availability, and roster information.
  • You agree to compete on your own account. Account piloting, account sharing for matches, or having another person play for you is not allowed.
  • You agree that your final competition roster is based on your saved Team roster and any character or weapon exclusions submitted during registration.
  • You agree to check in on time. Missing check-in, or host instructions WILL result in automatic disqualification.
  • You agree to follow the draft room, match room, recording, and scheduling instructions from the host team.
  • You agree that rulings on eligibility, valid runs, disputes, remakes, forfeits, bracket progression, and final standings are final.
  • You agree to follow Stygian community rules and Discord conduct standards during registration, drafting, matches, and post-match discussion.
  • You consent to your display name, UID, roster details, draft data, match results, submitted videos, stream clips, and standings being used for tournament operations and public coverage.

Eligibility and Registration

Registration is an application process, not automatic entry. The admin team may review roster readiness, weighted cost, availability, conduct history, and scheduling fit before approving the final field.

  • You must sign in with a Stygian account before applying.
  • You must provide a contact email, Discord handle, in-game UID, region, timezone, and at least three availability windows.
  • Your Team roster should be updated before applying and should accurately reflect the characters, constellations, weapons, and refinements you are willing to use.
  • Use the roster exclusion options for any character or weapon that is on your account but should not be considered available for this competition. These exclusions are NOT allowed to be used during battle.
  • One entry is allowed per player. Duplicate entries, alternate accounts, or misleading account ownership may be rejected.

Schedule and Check-in

All listed times use tournament time, GMT+7, unless a host announcement says otherwise. Players are responsible for converting the schedule to their local timezone.

  • Registration is planned for Sep 23rd at 8:00 PM GMT+7 through October 10th at 8:00 PM GMT+7.
  • Check-in is planned for October 12th at 7:30 PM GMT+7, before Round 1 access opens.
  • Tournament matches are planned for October 12th-19th across the scheduled match windows.
  • If you cannot attend a scheduled match, contact the host team as early as possible.
  • A player who misses check-in, misses a match call, or becomes unreachable may be replaced by a waitlisted player or given a forfeit loss.

Match Format

  • Matches are 1v1. Each player competes against the assigned opponent under the same match rules and the same boss that will be announced ahead of time.
  • All clears MUST be green, any red attempts will automatically be disqualified.
  • Standard matches are BO3 where only your best attempt counts.
  • Players are free to choose their desired difficulty but only valid attempts will be recorded.
  • The deciding factor weighs difficulty higher then time. For example a 120s Dire clear will beat a 60s Fearless clear.
  • In case there is a tie, the game will go to sudden death and whichever player gets the next best clear wins.

Draft Room and Roster Rules

Approved players receive private draft access from the host team after check-in. Draft rooms are tournament tools, not public matchmaking rooms.

  • Only competition-eligible characters and weapons from the final saved roster may be drafted or used.
  • Characters or weapons excluded during registration are treated as unavailable unless the admin approves a correction.
  • Draft links, room codes, and match room information must not be shared outside the assigned players and hosts.
  • If you select an invalid item, disconnect, or notice a draft issue, notify the admin immediately. Do not continue silently and dispute it later.
  • Technical issues may lead to a admin-selected remedy, including rollback, remake, forced pick, time penalty, or forfeit.

Weighted Cost and Seeding

This competition uses weighted cost to seed players and create fairer matchups. Weighted cost is not the same thing as the public cost shown on individual clear submissions.

Weighted-cost sheet link

  • The system separates horizontal depth from vertical investment. Having more usable options matters, but high constellations and high refinements also matter because they can swing draft and clear outcomes. Both of these will be factored into the seeding process.
  • Weapons are weighted lower than characters for seeding, while vertical investment receives additional weight.
  • The resulting seed score places players into nearby brackets and helps the host team pair players with similar available roster strength when possible.

Why Weighted Cost Is Used

We add a negative weight to weaker or unpopular characters to encourage more diversity in the meta. These weights will not change during a specific competition but may be altered if rebalancing is required.

Valid Run and Evidence Rules

All runs must be screenshared to us live and we do not allow pre-recorded gameplay.

  • Use the assigned boss, and drafted team.
  • Stream, screenshot, or other evidence requested by the host team.
  • Cropping, zooming, missing timer information, or hidden run details may lead to rejection.
  • Do not submit pre-recorded, edited, spliced, or otherwise altered run evidence unless the host team explicitly allows that evidence format.
  • Cheats, gameplay automation, private servers, modified clients, unauthorized macros, exploit abuse, or bug abuse are not allowed.
  • Technical issues, disconnects, crashes, ping problems, or device problems are handled at admin's discretion and do not automatically guarantee a remake.

Conduct Rules

  • Respect opponents, hosts, casters, moderators, and viewers.
  • Harassment, hate speech, threats, doxxing, targeted abuse, bribery, collusion, intentional throwing, or repeated bad-faith disputes are not allowed.
  • Do not share private match links, draft room links, room codes, admin screenshots, or opponent contact details without permission.
  • The host team may warn, mute, remove, forfeit, or disqualify a player for conduct that harms the event.

Prizes

Prize details should be confirmed in the final announcement before this guide is published. The current competition page references a Welkin reward sent to the UID provided during registration.

  • Prizes are awarded only after results are verified and the event is finalized.
  • Players are responsible for providing the correct UID and for ensuring that their account can receive the advertised reward.
  • The host team may delay, substitute, or withhold a prize if delivery is technically unavailable, regionally restricted, tied to incorrect account information, or affected by a rules violation.
  • No cash alternative is guaranteed unless the host team announces one.

Privacy and Public Coverage

Application information is used to operate the competition, including registration review, seeding, scheduling, verification, dispute handling, public bracket coverage, and prize delivery. Contact email and private notes are for host operations. Public coverage may include display name, UID, roster details, draft data, match results, standings, clips, screenshots, and VOD links.

Disputes and Final Authority

  • Raise disputes as soon as possible, preferably before the next game or next bracket round begins.
  • Provide evidence when making a dispute, such as screenshots, video timestamps.
  • The host team can correct errors, repair bracket mistakes, remake matches, reject invalid evidence, or issue penalties when needed for competitive integrity.
  • If this guide conflicts with a later official host announcement, the later announcement takes priority.
